Update.

So, its been a couple weeks since I last posted. I've been VERY busy lately! I start my new job Monday for orientation and MORE paperwork! It'll be in Columbus so the time difference and drive will take a lot of getting used to but I can manage. I'm very nervous at the same time because I really hope I enjoy the job and am good at it.

We  also went to Savannah, Ga last week which was beautiful in EVERY way imaginable. I just know that we will be back as soon as we can. I could walk around there for hours on end.. even in the cold! We saw so many beautiful Live Oaks that it takes your breath away at first. We stayed at the Inn on Ellis Square and it was such a lovely historic building with HUGE windows and not to mention a great view of the river. We'll be seeing you soon Savannah ;]

Now, something that has been on my mind lately is relationships. I've been in all kinds in my short little life: long ones, short ones, loving ones, abusive ones, controlling ones, great ones, and not-so great ones. I feel like I have hit it wrong in the past but I am truly proud of my relationship today. I work REALLY hard at it, we both do. It takes a lot of giving and compromise..a WHOLE lot. But in the beginning you never see all that it will take. You see how cute the other is or how wonderful it is that you love a certain band that he loves too- now don't get me wrong that is important and all but its not even the icing on the cake.

The icing, that holds a relationship together for life to me, is the concept of change & growth. Can you deal with change/growth in your partner.. cause trust me not only will the physical change but a lot will change as your partner grows up and learns in life. And not only them, but you will change too! Its kind of like learning to love a new person through your whole life because the core, the soul is there but the aspects of people change..

Time is one of those things that matter but in a sense it doesn't. I was with my highschool boyfriend Will almost 5 years and we were in love, or at least I was. But not the kind of love that it takes to accept the future changes of each other. We were in love with each other for that time. I loved the High School him, and he loved the High School me. We never saw past friday night more less where we'd be in 5 years. 10 years. But now Jeb 4 years later with us, we're married. we're IN love. the kind that sees the future and embraces the change and growth we will come to. I can tell you from 19 to 23 I've changed drastically and Jeb has excepted that and as I have excepted him.

Almost ALL people who get divorced say, "Your not the person I married so many years ago." WELL DUH, people GROW! You are not going to be the same at 20 and 40. No way. Too many life experiences happen and mold you. If you are a lucky person, your partner will include you in the new molding, but some just leave there partner behind.

If you want a love that will last, really really last. Bring them with you in your changes. Always. Don't hide things from them just to spare them their feelings- be honest. It truly is the BEST policy.
And for those of you who think you'll be alone for ever, it is no where near true. You just have to find your Jeb :] and not be too busy looking for him/her that you miss them. It happens by chance truly. You could be at home or at the doctor or maybe even at your job.

Now I don't believe in soul mates but i do believe that relationships take work, hard work. and If they don't one person is hiding something because humans are unique and complex species.. you should know you are one ;]

LONG blog. A lot on my mind.

Sunday Night Blogger.

Not too much to report although my computer has been messing up lately so I might not post as much! :[
It keeps doing crazy MAC things.

One thing for tonight: Keep Jeb in your thoughts because he has his interview with Kia in the morning at 7am. We're keeping our fingers crossed. I just want him home. I need him home.

I'm also waiting on my background check to go through so I can start work with KMART. I hope it passes quickly. I have a lot to get done before I start.. so I need them to give me a date ASAP.

Keep me in your thoughts.

Don't be sad or broken hearted, Spread my ashes in the shoe Dept.

So i have been trying to add to my lack of a wardrobe since I found out I was getting this job. All ihad was college-y stuff. T-Shirts, Jeans, Flip-Flops, and of course my dreaded Oxford WHITE button up and black slacks. lol.

So as I find things cheap I buy them. Well, I found Dillards was having a GREAT shoe sell. I got a pair of Kenneth Cole flats, Jessica Simpson Flats, and nice leather heels Gianni Bini all for 43 dollars.
Would have been about 240 for all of them PRE sale.

*the brown ones are cuter in person I think, while I'm wearing them with my brown skirted suit ;]

Monday Night Deals & a laugh.

So Yesterday I worked a split but got off a little early because it was slow.. (ugh) So i headed to Tiger Town after work to Ross & Kohls. I needed to find Jeb some nice pants for his interview incase we don't find a nice suit at a nice price he can always wear slacks and a blazer. (WHICH he looks smokin' in! ) Everyone knows I buy nothing full price. I either have coupons or its on clearance. I'm cheap sometimes, I know. But hey, I save money!

So, I found these at Ross! I was SO excited.
Photobucket
$60 dollar Dockers for..
Photobucket
$8.99! Score.

Then I went to Kohls and found some great savings on the clearance rack!
These cute earrings!

My week.

This has been a very great week.. just work and Jeb :] He's been home this week and it's been very nice! I love waking up and making breakfast for us.. and having someone to cuddle with! (it's been cold here so that's a plus at night!)

He got an interview with the Kia plant for the 8th of February (wish him luck!) and I'm excited. I know its not archaeology or his idea of what he wanted to do but he'd be home with me every night which something I have not had in a year and a half. I miss him VERY much and I'm ready to see him everyday!

I decided to start taking more pictures and posting them for my family and friends who follow this blog.. so here was my morning on Thursday this past week.

I woke up to having to take this:
(which works miracles I swear by it!)
Photobucket

so Jeb suggested we make these..

Just thought I'd share a fun morning with you all!

ps.. We also recently received a snuggie as a gift from my in-laws and you'd be surprised who always uses it!

He might kill me for this! Have a good week everyone! Love you.

Its been a bit.

Sorry I got a little behind! :] A lot has happened recently. Good and Bad, but you gotta have both right?

I got a career going! Starting to train with Kmart for Management making good money and SOOO READY! I have to get my background check, credit check, and drug testing done this week before they give me a location & start date. District Manager says it looks like I'll start in mid February.

Jeb is home this week. He is trying to decide what to do next. He got demoted from Lab and Field to just field which stinks money wise.. and we are a little behind right now. I wish he were able to go back to school right now but we just can't afford it at the time. I want him to apply to the KIA plant and just work there a couple years til we can pay off my Loans from school and then send him back. We'll see how it goes.

I'm ready for the chance to start a career.. and I'm very excited. You guys know I'm a hard worker so I think this is a GREAT job for me! :]

Alright EVERYONE have a great week and I'll keep you posted!
WAR EAGLE! Oh and Go Colts! (I got your back KDUB!)

Sunday.

Not a lot on my mind tonight other than the typical money, family, and life issues. But one thing keeps lingering in my mind and that's babies. I see friends who already have them and are expecting more! When's it going to be my time? I know I'm only 23 but sometimes I wonder. So much money to pay off and sooooo much to do- like where am I EVER going to get a job. I truly need one BAD. If anyone out there is listening could you put in a good word for me?! Thanks. :]

I hope everyone has a great week! Here's to this week! I hope its wonderful for me, too!

Thoughts.

I had a night alone tonight. I took a long bath, watched the People's Choice Awards, watched The Proposal, and cleaned a little. Most of my nights are spent alone due to Jeb traveling, 72% of my time is without him. Although I hate it, tonight I had a lot of time to think. Some happy thoughts some sad, but all together much needed thoughts.

For the first time I think in my life I sat alone with no tv on, or music to fill the silence. No computer in my face or book. Anyone who knows me knows I am scared to death of the dark and when it's night I MUST have something going to distract me from the fact. But just then I looked down and see Lou and Lola. I realized I am not alone. I am thankful for those amazing creatures and to all you out there who are animal lovers you understand. When I am down they are there to love me, cuddle me, and drive me insane. They mean so very much to me. <3
Photobucket

I know they miss Jeb too. When I walk through the door, esp Lola looks instantly behind me to find her Dad. She's depressed because he is gone. She loves him as does Lou. We all do. We miss you when you're gone Jeb.

The New Year.

We all start off the new year by claiming to be able to keep up "resolutions" and usually after a few weeks we fall flat or we just end up thinking it's too hard to keep trying. This year is going to be different because in order to move forward in my life I have to do these "resolutions".. it is time to do the things i set out to do. It's year 24 of life.. and I am grasping it.

1. I am going to save ALL my pictures to CD's, label them, and organize inside cases. I don't ever want to lose all my pictures again.

2. I am going to walk 3 mornings a week, then gradually begin running again because I use to love to run- but eventually got too busy with school and work. Now that Jeb is traveling a lot and I have no more school I have NO excuses!

3. Seriously cutting out a majority of salt from my diet.. I eat WAY too much of it. It is constantly making me feel bloated and I am ready to not feel that way anymore!

4. Talk to Jeb at least 20 minutes a night M-F on the phone when he is traveling because we get way too hectic and forget about spending time together!

5. Keep my house more in order.. I am a very organized person but certain times I just let things go when Jeb is gone.

6. Find a job. A job with my degree.

7. Get Jeb to take the GRE so he can get back into school to gain his Master's and eventually his PHD.

8. Take better care of me: Not just eating better and working out but focusing on me for once in my life. I always focus on others and while that's a good thing it can also be bad. I need me time too.

9. See my family more often. I miss them.

10. I cut up my Victoria's Secret and Old Navy cards (which anyone who knows me well knows that Victoria's Secret is my weakness) -- I plan to have them paid off by this time next year.

11. Grow in my relationship as we experience our next year of marriage. I'm very happily in love and I plan to only become more in love this year!

Fort Payne

I had a nice trip to visit my parents and grandma for Christmas. A lot of times I get anxious about visiting because I seriously dislike my hometown for numerous reasons.. but this time I had a lot of fun there for the day. We are lunch together, shopped a little, drove around so they could show me the new things in town, (it's been like 8 months since I've been up that way) ate dinner with grandma, talked with my uncle, and spent the night at grandma's house. I had fun getting to spend time with Rachel because I rarely see her at all more less get quality one on one time with the gal.
Next morning we had breakfast with Mom and Dad then headed out. Dad gave me a couple of his old Jackson Highway albums which made my day.

Christmas Monday was a Funday :]

Here's a few pictures from the trip--

a life change.

An eldery woman in Hobby Lobby changed my life today. As we stood in line chatting about the holidays, wal*mart shopping, and family, she looked at me and said, "It's been three years since my husband passed and this has been the hardest. Not sure why, I'm not sick or anything. I just miss him, you know? I lived with him 61 years, we married at 16, and had 5 beautiful children together who now have families of their own. I just miss him."

As i looked into her eyes, i saw a spark as if i looked back into her life and saw her as a young bride, wife, and mother. It broke me down to tears in the parking lot. For minutes i cried and saw that I myself in 60 years could be in that very same place.. shopping alone wishing Jeb were there to hold my hand and pull the car around. I miss him so much when he travels, it hurts. But I am thankful that I have him in my life.. and dread the day I'm without him. He's my everything.

rethinking.

Sometimes I wonder if the choices I have made, have indeed been well thought out ones. I am having a hard time with certain things in my life. Yeah.

I hate mondays.

Ah, Monday- the day we all love to hate. It is harder to wake up, harder to get going, and harder to have a positive outlook. Right now in my life i feel as if things get harder by the minute. It seems things will never look up or I will never get my family picture on the wall. I want a job. I want Jeb to have a steady job. I want a kid even if it is like 5 years away-I want to be in that point in my life. All my friends are getting pregnant or have kids, owning houses, traveling, or getting amazing jobs AND i am here, working at Red Lobster making shitty money and becoming more in debt.

I graduate in May so I am totally hoping that life will ONLY go up from there. I am wishing that i can graduate with a job lined up that gives me decent pay and AMAZING benefits. I have not had health insurance for any time during my adult life and it'd be nice to go to the dentist or be able to go to the gynocologist than to the health department.

I know that there are MILLIONS who have it worse than me, so I am a very lucky woman.. I have amazing family, friends, husband, and I am about to have a BA from Auburn University. For some, its more than they could imagine but with all i have learned from school and independent study I want more. Is that so bad? I want to be able to afford my bills, go on a vacation, or to the doctor. Is that too much to ask?
I am going to strive to make progress in the next year.

This time next year I want to have at least 3 credit cards COMPLETELY paid off, a decent job, Jeb have steady work, have our new townhouse complete with the furniture we need, another married couple to hang with, and be more social.

Alright-Mondays make me tired and i think I shall sleep.

Tuesday, January 20, 2009

Jeb and I on our wedding day. Isn't he just sweet looking :]

Something new.

I love to blog.. and  I have had a few friends I know that blog on here so I figured I'd start to do the same. My  goal is to write at least once a week- not sure if ANYONE will read or not, but the blog is for me.. my thoughts, my goals, my weird weeks, and most of all my whines. So, there you go.. if you read this-you will see. I am a whiner. at times. So until tomorrow, goodnight.
